Reggie Lucas is one of the most popular and richest American musician who was born on February 25, 1953 in New York, United States. Lucas was born in Flushing (Queens), New York on February 25, 1953.
For their song “Never Knew Love Like This before”, Lucas and James Mtume received a Grammy Award in 1981. It was performed by Stephanie Mills.
In 1986, Lucas founded the Jersey City recording studio Quantum Sound. Clients of the studio included the Pet Shop Boys, Jodeci, Jeff Buckley and Sepultura.
Lucas began his career as a jazz and R&B guitarist. He played with Billy Paul from the 1970s, and Miles Davis between 1972 and 1976. Lucas met Mtume, a percussionist, in Davis’ electric band, which also included Al Foster, Michael Henderson, and Pete Cosey. He would become his production partner later. They joined Roberta Flack’s 1976 band and toured for many years with Andrew Baijnath.

Reggie Lucas was an American musician and record producer. He was born Reginald Grant Lucas on February 25, 1953. Lucas is most well-known for his production work alongside percussionist Mtume on Madonna’s 1983 debut album and for playing in the Miles Davis electric bands of the first half the 1970s.
After the 1970s, Lucas began writing and producing his own material. He also produced his 1978 instrumental “Survival Themes” and his 1983 solo album “Madonna”, which included the song “Borderline”. The majority of the album was produced by Lucas, and it sold over five million copies.
Lucas later worked with Rebbie Jackson, Randy Crawford, and The Four Tops on his own. The Four Tops’ 1985 “Magic”, included the single “Sexy Ways” and “Maybe Tomorrow”, a duet between Levi Stubbs and Phyllis Hyman. Lucas was also a member of the short-lived group Sunfire, who released one album in 1982. Lucas produced their single “Young Free and Single”.
